Hydration
Sodium (500mg)
Sodium plays a pivotal role in hydration. It increases fluid absorption, fluid retention, maintains electrolyte balance and stimulates thirst, thus increasing fluid intake. Research shows that drinks containing sodium can improve endurance, mood, and reaction times, whilst reducing the risk of cramps and hyponatremia.
Learn morePotassium (200mg)
Potassium works closely with sodium to maintain normal cellular fluid balance, nerve impulses, and muscle contractions. Potassium chloride specifically may counteract the effects of too much sodium, maintaining a healthy electrolyte balance.
Learn moreMagnesium (20mg)
Magnesium is imperative for over 300 enzymatic reactions, including those that produce and use ATP, the body's energy currency. It aids hydration by moving water into cells, essential for muscle function, energy, and performance.

Caffeine (100mg)
Caffeine is known for its effects such as increased alertness, focus, energy and mood, strength, speed and power. However, it can also cause undesirable effects such as increased heart rate, blood pressure, anxiety and jitteriness, and sleep disturbances.
Studies suggest that lower doses (50-100mg), when combined with L-theanine can afford the cognitive benefits whilst minimising unwanted and detrimental physiological side effects.
This synergistic relationship is particularly beneficial in settings where clarity of thought, reaction times and attention are required, such as the workplace, a workout or sports setting.
Learn moreL-Theanine (200mg)
L-Theanine is an amino acid which promotes relaxation whilst countering the physiological stimulatory effects of caffeine through neurochemical mechanisms. Studies show improvement in attention and mood, reduction in anxiety, and improvements in attention switching with a combination of L-theanine and caffeine.
The combination has also been shown to improve static and dynamic movement accuracy as well as reduce task-induced mental fatigue.

When To Use Race 500 Sachets
Our Race 500 Formula has been specifically developed to maximise hydration and energy whenever you need it most.
We recommend that you use Race 500 Sachets 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to training sessions.
Caffeine is a stimulant and may interfere with sleep if consumed in the evening. However, research shows that a combination of L-Theanine with lower doses of caffeine can offset the stimulating effects of caffeine and thus not be as detrimental to sleep.
For maximum efficacy, we recommend that you add 1 sachet to 500ml-1L / 17-32OZ of Water.
Frequently Asked Questions
What electrolytes do Race 500 Sachets contain?
Race 500 Sachets contain three key electrolytes in bioavailable forms: Sodium (as salt/sodium chloride), Potassium (as potassium chloride), and Magnesium (as marine magnesium citrate), scientifically formulated to optimise hydration, and improve mental and physical performance.
How quickly can I rehydrate with Race 500 Sachets?
You can fully rehydrate within 30 minutes with sufficient fluid and electrolytes.
Check out our article on hydration strategies to find out more.
Why is hydration with Race 500 better than drinking plain water?
Exercising at moderate to high intensities can result in significant electrolyte losses and electrolyte imbalances, which can negatively impact mental and physical performance. Water alone is not able to replace those electrolytes. Race 500 electrolyte sachets are specifically designed to rapidly restore electrolyte balance and optimise cellular hydration.
How should I take Race 500 Sachets?
We recommend that you add 1 sachet to 500ml-1L of water.
What is Caffeine?
Caffeine is a natural stimulant commonly found in coffee and tea. It works by blocking adenosine, a neurotransmitter that relaxes the brain and makes you feel tired. As a result, it increases alertness, concentration and energy. Research has also shown that caffeine can enhance physical performance, strength, speed, power and endurance, and make hard tasks feel easier.
What is L-Theanine?
L-Theanine is an amino acid predominantly found in green and black tea. It is known for its ability to promote relaxation without drowsiness, shown to improve focus and reduce stress when paired with caffeine. Together, Caffeine and L-Theanine are known for their synergistic effects that improve both concentration and calmness.
Are Race 500 Sachets suitable for those on a vegan diet?
Race 500 Sachets are vegan, making them suitable for those on a plant-based diet.
Are Race 500 Sachets suitable for those on a keto diet?
Race 500 Sachets contain 0g of carbohydrates, making them suitable for those on a ketogenic diet.
How many servings of Race 500 Sachets can I have in a day?
Individual electrolyte requirements vary significantly. They are dependent upon factors such as sweat rate, sweat electrolyte composition, activity levels, training intensity, environmental conditions and more. It is important to note that Race 500 is meant to supplement your electrolyte intake; it should not be your sole source of electrolytes.
A well balanced daily diet is likely to provide a significant amount of your electrolyte requirements and we highly recommend a food-first approach. However, you can supplement with 1-4 sachets per day, depending on your activity level. For any specific guidance on daily salt and electrolytes intake, you should consult your doctor.
You should also be aware of your caffeine tolerance. Genetic factors can influence the metabolism of caffeine and thus impact how much each individual can tolerate each day, with general guidelines outlining up to 400mg of caffeine safe for healthy adults. 4 sachets of Race 500 delivers 400mg of caffeine, so this would be our recommended limit for daily intake.
Additionally, if you are pregnant or nursing, taking any prescription medications or have any pre-existing medical conditions, please consult a medical professional before consumption and use only as directed.
