FAQs

What electrolytes does Cadence contain?

Cadence™ Electrolyte Drink contains three key electrolytes: Sodium (as salt/sodium chloride), Potassium (as potassium chloride), and Magnesium (as magnesium lactate), formulated to support hydration and electrolyte balance in the body.

Why is hydration with Cadence better than drinking plain water?

Hydration with the Cadence™ Electrolyte Drink is more effective because it not only provides the water your body needs but also the essential electrolytes in a science-backed ratio to help maintain normal cellular water distribution, muscle contractions, and nerve signalling, unlike plain water that only addresses fluid intake without replenishing lost electrolytes. Be sure to explore our article on how electrolytes hydrate better than plain water for more information.

How many servings of Cadence can I drink per day?

Cadence™ electrolyte consumption is highly dependent on the individual. It is important to note that Cadence™ is meant to supplement your electrolyte intake;  it should not be your sole source of electrolytes. We recommend that you acquire most of your electrolytes from whole food sources, however you can supplement with 2 -3 cans per day, depending on your activity level. For any specific guidance on daily salt intake, you should consult your doctor.

Additionally, if you are pregnant or nursing, taking any prescription medications or have any pre-existing medical conditions, please consult a medical professional before consumption and use only as directed.

How should I use the Cadence Electrolyte Drink?

Cadence™ can be used any time of the day. We are generally more dehydrated upon waking, so you may find some benefit to drinking Cadence™ in the morning. We also suggest that you use Cadence™ before/after high intensity training to compensate for lost water and electrolytes through sweat. Take a look at our article on when to take electrolytes to find out more

Physical Performance

Hydration with electrolytes, particularly sodium and potassium has been found to aid performance during prolonged exercise. Studies suggest that staying hydrated is key for performance in strength, power, and high-intensity endurance based exercise, as well as managing thermoregulation mechanisms.

Cognitive Function

Adequate hydration with magnesium is linked to maintenance of normal brain function. Studies show that increased brain magnesium may improve brain activity, influencing nerve signal transmission and preserving blood-brain barrier integrity, which can affect cognitive functions such as memory and attention.

Muscular Recovery

Electrolytes, especially magnesium, may play a significant role in post-exercise recovery. Studies have shown that magnesium supplementation may significantly reduce muscle soreness, session rating of perceived exertion, acute rating of perceived exertion, and improve perceived recovery.

Reduced Cramping

Electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium are essential for muscle function and can help prevent cramping during and after exercise. Muscle cramps are often associated with electrolyte imbalances, particularly in hot conditions. Studies show that consuming beverages with electrolytes can delay the onset of muscle cramps compared to plain water.

Cadence™ Electrolytes Explained

Hydration is not just about drinking enough water; it's a complex process that also relies on the absorption and balance of electrolytes. Electrolytes are minerals in your body that have an electric charge. They are necessary for numerous functions within the body, including fluid balance, muscle contractions, and nerve signalling.
